Classic Polka Dot Cubbies

We are still trying to get our rooms ready for the start of school!

Continuing on with our Black and White Polka Dot Theme we used Scotch Duck Tape to give our cubbies a refreshing new look.

Our cubbies our 20 plus years old and were beginning to look their age.  To spruce them up we used black and white polka dot duck tape and laminated construction paper!

First we taped the edges of the cubbies with with duck tape.  Next we cut laminated construction paper down to fit in the cubbies.  Using a hot glue gun we glued the construction paper onto the bottom of the cubbie.  We are going to use the black an white polka dot labels from our post on August 16, 2015 as name labels on our cubbies!

Amazing Editable Polka Dot Labels!

Are you as busy with last minute details in your classroom as we are?

Well. . . we finally figured out how to make labels in Power Point!  It is so exciting!  Now we can easily change the background of the slide and make our labels look incredible!  If you want polka dot labels you can grab Editable Avery 5164 labels by clicking here! We used paper by Teacher Joe, frames from Print Candee, and Hello Fonts to make the labels.  Our rooms have a black and white theme going on so we used the black and white polka dots but if you download them they come in blue, turquoise, green, yellow, orange, red, and black.

How we did this was by copying the table from the labels in Word. It was really pretty simple.  Here are some instructions!

1.    Open a new document in Microsoft Word.
2.    Open Labels, select the label size you want to use, click new document.
3.    Click on the outside of the new document and copy the entire table.
4.    Open Power Point.
5.    Make sure your Power Point slide is set to 8.5" by 11".
6.    Paste the labels onto your slide.
7.    Stretch your labels to make sure the copied table goes to the edge of the slide.
8.    Add any clip art frames to the table.
9.    Add text.
10.  Format the slide background.
